For the week of Dec. 4 - 8

This is a very jam-packed week of activities! Christmas Shoppe will be taking place this week. Your homeroom teacher will let you know when your class is signed up to shop. Progress Reports for secondary students will be going home on Monday. On Tuesday, secondary students will be treated to a visit by the visiting author. He will be working with students as they create their very own book. Students will be working with the author from 9:35 - 11:10 a.m. and 12:40 - 1:40 p.m. Elementary students will visit with the author on Wednesday. Secondary students will attend The Magic of Geography assembly on Thursday from 8:45 - 9:45 a.m. Rehearsals for the Christmas musical will take place on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

6th Grade Word
We will be working with the various wizards MS Word has to offer. There will be no class on Tuesday due to the visiting author.

Keyboarding
7th/8th grade will be working with Autowords. The 6th grade class time will be shortened due to the Geography assembly. What we do will be determined by the time you arrive in class.

8th Grade History
  • Don't forget to give a gift to the one you drew for Secret Santa.
  • We will review Chapter 5 on Monday, with a test over the Chapter on Tuesday.
  • We'll visit the Christmas Shoppe on Wednesday and, with whatever time is remaining, will go to the Computer Lab for Current Events.
  • Thursday's class will be shortened due to the Geography assembly. You will be seeing a short segment on Socrates before going to the assembly.
  • You'll be seeing a film on Alexander the Great on Friday.
  • Current Events are due on Friday.

10th Grade Computers

We'll finish up with Project 4 in PowerPoint on Wednesday. On Thursday, we'll begin a unit on Plagiarism: What it is and how to avoid it!

For the week of Nov. 27 - Dec. 1

Don't forget to get your donations for the Bowl-A-Thon! Those are due by Friday.

6th Grade Word
We will be learning a few new skills and completing assignments using those skills.

Keyboarding
You will be typing AutoWords this week.

8th Grade History
We'll get back to and finish our discussion of Chapter 5. Current Events are due Friday.

10th Grade Computers
You will begin assignments in PowerPoint Project 4.

For the week of Nov. 20 - 24

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all enjoy a great week of giving thanks for all God has provided! We will be dismissing school at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday and have Thursday and Friday off for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Keyboarding
7th/8th grade will be the only class meeting this week. We will finish up Lesson 5 with the self-test and timed test.

6th Grade Word
You will be completing two Thanksgiving related projects.

8th Grade History
We will take a break from Chapter 5 to discuss the history of Thanksgiving and why we continue to celebrate today. No Current Events this week.

10th Grade Computers
We will finish up our discussion of Project 4 in PowerPoint.

For the week of Nov. 13-17

This is a busy week of special activities.
  • Picture retakes are on Monday along with the beginning of our new water bottle recycling program.
  • Report cards will be going home with students on Wednesday.
  • This will be another short week as we have Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences at the end of the week. All students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and have no school on Friday. Conference times are Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Secondary teachers will be having conferences in the activity room.

Keyboarding

We will be working with the letters N, V, B, M, and C.

6th Grade Computers

Your afternoon class with me is now going to take place in the computer lab. We will have class this week on Mon. - Wed. We'll be working this quarter with MS Word.

8th Grade History

  • We will begin Chapter 5 on Monday.
  • On Wednesday, we will be attending the all-school Thanksgiving Chapel during first hour. You will then have the opportunity to find a current event in the computer lab.
  • Current Events are due on Thursday of this week.

9th/10th Grade Computers

We will finish up Project 3 in PowerPoint this week.

For the week of Nov. 6-10

This is the last week of first quarter. Secondary students will be taking exams on Thursday and Friday and will be dismissed both days at 11:30 a.m. Elementary students will be attending school all day on Thursday, but dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

Keyboarding
7th and 8th grade will meet on Monday and will be spending time with Mavis Beacon. Sixth grade will not be meeting for class on Thursday due to exams.

6th Grade Public Speaking
You will be giving your final speeches on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, we will play "Whose Line is it Anyway?" That will be our last class session.

8th Grade History
We will be reviewing Mon. - Wed. Your exam is Thursday morning during first hour.

9th/10th Grade Computers
You will be working on assignments in Project 3 of PowerPoint on Mon. - Wed. There will be no classes on Thurs. and Fri. due to exams and early dismissal.
